Kit list: what to pack for a summer camp in Spain
Practical, boring and the thing families ask about most.
Football
- Two pairs of boots: firm ground and, for coastal camps on worn pitches, a moulded pair
- Trainers for gym and recovery sessions
- Shin pads, and a spare pair
- Six pairs of football socks — more than feels reasonable
- Two water bottles
Some camps provide a kit pack; check whether it is included, an extra, or absent, before duplicating it.
Spanish summer
July and August inland can sit above 35°C. Coastal camps are milder but the sun is not.
- High-factor sun cream, reapplied at midday
- A cap for non-training hours
- Electrolyte sachets if the child is not used to the heat
Documents
Passport or ID, EHIC or insurance details, the camp's medical form, and the parental authorisation if requested. Keep photographs of all of them on your own phone.
What not to send
Expensive headphones, large amounts of cash, and anything the child would be upset to lose. Most camps offer a safe; not all of them do.
Common questions
- Is laundry usually included?
- It varies, and it is one of the inclusions we track on every camp page. Two-week stays without laundry need noticeably more packing.
